Small Business Council
What is the Small Business Council?
The Greater Memphis Chamber works for business by business and roughly 90 percent of the Chamber's members are small businesses. Together, we're successful. When you join the Chamber, you're gaining a huge support system in the business community. We're here for you.
What is the Vision of the Small Business Council?
The vision of the Small Business Council is to serve as the advocate for business by encouraging, supporting, recognizing and being a resource that enriches business practices within our community.
What We Do:
The Small Business Council, led by the SBC Leadership, focuses on providing access to opportunities and resources to grow your business.
How do you get involved?
Chamber member companies who have 100 employees or less automatically get access to all SBC programs and benefits. All events will have a member rate and a non-member rate. For more information on getting involved, email Amy Daniels at firstname.lastname@example.org.

Small businesses are the backbone of our community’s economy and infrastructure, but thriving as a small business owner can be hard. For example, research from the National Federation of Independent Businesses shows that more than 50 percent of small businesses fail because of internal deficiencies rather than externally generated problems. That’s why it’s important to connect and share best practices for success. One of the Greater Memphis Chamber’s leading strengths is helping our members make the connections and access the information that make a difference.
The Chamber currently provides a variety of educational and networking opportunities for small business members. The Lunch in the Know series, a free event held six times a year includes expert speakers on topics such as marketing, business leadership, and more. The annual HR/Legal Summit offers managers and business owners updates on new workplace laws. Visit the Chamber calendar to see what events are coming up!
Also part of SBC Programming is the Advice on Tap program which connects industry experts with small business members for free consultations.
