In addition to cookouts and fireworks, there are some
great July 4th fitness traditions in Memphis. This weekend offers two of the biggest endurance related celebrations on the fitness calendar. Whether you want to ride your bike, run or go for a walk … there is something for everyone. Let's get moving Memphis!

This ride is presented by
Memphis Hightailers Bicycle Club, the local group dedicated to promoting cycling in the Memphis and Mid South community. There will be cyclists of all shapes and sizes, and the ride offers multiple distances to accommodate all levels of riders. The ride is followed by a party that includes food provided by
Central BBQ and beverages provided by
New Belgium Brewing.
On Sunday evening over 2,000 runners and walkers will converge on the Racquet Club for one of the biggest 5K runs in town.

The post-race pool party will include live music and a food buffet. This event is as much party as it is an athletic event. If you have ever wanted to try a 5K, this is a good one. There will be fast runners up front and casual walkers and strollers bringing up the rear.
